 Mrs Nia Creed

BDS (Hons), MFDS RCPS (Glasg)

British Association of Oral Surgeons, GDC 114368

Nia graduated with honours from the University of Wales, Cardiff University in 2007. Following completion of her vocational training in Tongwynlais Dental Practice she embarked on General Professional Training in the Rhondda valleys (Community Dentistry) and Merthyr Tydfil (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery). It was in the hospital setting that she discovered her passion - and now special interest - in oral surgery.

Working exclusively as a Specialty Dentist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 2010, Nia has a broad range of surgical skills. She also has extensive experience in the surgical treatment of patients with complex medical problems and in liaising with primary care dental and medical practitioners to provide safe and appropriate dental care.

"Please consider referring for assessment, oral surgical cases where your patient wishes to access treatment with minimal delays; and any challenging cases, where you feel referral for surgery will benefit your patients overall experience of their care."

Nia's work in secondary care now consists of oral medicine clinics and oral surgery cases performed under local anaesthesia. She also has experience in oral surgery under conscious sedation as well as the multidisciplinary management of oral and maxillofacial trauma, head and neck cancer and orthognathic surgery.

Nia's surgical skills include: complex surgical dental extractions under local anaesthesia (in particular 3rd molar teeth and retained roots), oral soft tissue biopsy, pre-prosthetic surgery, apicectomy, closure of oro-antral communications and frenectomy.

"I would be delighted to receive your referrals for oral surgery assessment and treatment. With my extensive experience, I can offer your patients' high quality care, providing peace of mind in a relaxed and comfortable setting."

Nia also offers implantology, and is happy to offer patients a free consultation for this service.
